This year, we will be electing the following positions on the Board of Directors. All positions are two-year terms:
- President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
Below are the general responsibilities and requirements for each Board position.
President
The PRESIDENT shall preside over all meetings of the Association, sign all official papers issued by the Association, and act as the Chief Executive Officer, exercising general supervision over the interests and welfare of the Association.
The President shall:
- Participate in long-range planning for the Association.
- Be available to other Officers for consultation.
- Possess the authority to sign all certificates, contracts, and other instruments of the Association.
- Preside at all meetings of the Board of Directors.
- Perform other duties as required by the Board of Directors or as are incident to the office of the President.
Secretary
The SECRETARY shall keep minutes of Membership and Board of Directors meetings and maintain an accurate and current membership list.
Treasurer
The TREASURER shall receive and record all funds belonging to the Association.
The Treasurer manages the Association’s bank account, website payment portal, and financial records. They assist with filing the annual report and tax documentation.
Requirements for Holding a Board Position
Qualifications:
- Candidates must be nominated by a Regular or Lifetime Active Member in “good standing.”
- Nominations must be seconded by one or more Regular or Lifetime Active Members attending the Annual Meeting, either in person, by authenticated proxy, or by verified electronic means.
- Nominees must have held Regular or Lifetime Active membership for at least two (2) consecutive years.
We encourage self-nominations and the nomination of members who have expressed interest in serving the Association!
The current Board of Directors will compile the nominations for the election.
Nomination Period
The nomination period is open from today through Wednesday, December 18th, at 5 PM.
At that time, the nomination process will close, and the election process will begin.
Voting will take place via electronic means.
Voting Process
Voting will be conducted through email this year.
The voting period will open on Wednesday, December 18th, and close at 5 PM on Saturday, December 21st.
After the voting period ends, the election group will review and tally the votes, with announcements made during the General Election.
